BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted January 29, 2015 I haven't experienced any hair loss, but I am menopausal and wear locs. I was already taking Biotin before surgery. What I have noticed is that my fingernails are shot. They constantly split and break off. I just cut them down yesterday. I've found a vegetarian friendly supplement I may try because I really dislike fake nails. @@Redefined - There are many different protocols and food plans. I was allowed oatmeal on purred stage as well.

MyssJones 84 Posted January 31, 2015 @@Peekboo The stalls are the worst. I'm 6+ weeks post op and it seems like everyone is losing so much weight and I'm losing 1-2 lbs a week. My NUT reminds me that some people were consuming four and five times the daily calories they are now and the drastic changes will make them drop weight very fast in the beginning. But I have been consuming my appropriate calories and so the change is not as drastic for me. This has given me some solace.
MyssJones 84 Posted January 31, 2015 Hello all, I haven't loaded my picture but qualify for this group. I was sleeved 1/19/15. Done 35 pounds since preop, but struggling to get my protien in. I can't swallow another protien shake. Any advice please getting week. Thanks I completely understand what you are saying about the Protein Shakes. At two weeks post op I was on purees and I began to eat eggs, puréed ground meat mixed with Soup, cheese, Greek yogurt etc. that's how I got and continue to get my Protein. Occasionally I'll drink a core power light Protein Shake and I can tolerate those pretty well.

Peekboo 472 Posted January 31, 2015 MyssJones Yes the stalls suck. I have gone three weeks and lost nothing then lose 4 pounds. I wish it were more consistent. How have you been otherwise? Does your stomach tolerate foods well? Any Constipation issues?lol, that's my biggest problem.

Hearing from people that have been through it gives me a piece of mind. As I stated I just begun this process so hopefully I can have my surgery in June.how long will it take to heal and start working out?

BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted January 31, 2015 @@fitme76 - That depends on you. If you have an easy surgery with no complications you can start working out again within 2 -3 weeks post post-op. Until then walking is an easy way to get in some exercise.
Kathy812 794 Posted February 1, 2015 @@fitme76, welcome! It depends on your surgeon. I was told to walk only for the first month. After that, I was released to start working out more strenuously but no abdominal workouts until 2 months. Good luck with the process. I love my sleeve (despite the fact that I'm losing slowly) it truly is one of the best decisions I've made. I've had no complications.
