HOW MUCH HAVE YOU ALL LOST IN THE FIRST MONTH

Recommended Posts

I will be one month this Friday. I lost 22 pounds post op. I don't know about any stalls. I weigh myself at my post op appointments. I enjoy the fact that I feel good and I feel my body changing. My next appointment is in a month and plan to work this sleeve n and plan until then.

Well, the good thing is.. keep losing this much a month and you will be down 100 pounds in 4 months! 25-30 pounds is amazing, and think how much you would have lost without? 2 pounds a week, if you were lucky!

17 down since surgery and most of that was the first week, was stalled for 3 weeks and the scale is only inching down 1 pound here .5 pounds there I must say I'm very disappointed. I'm 6 weeks today and just thought I'd see better numbers. I have an appt this Thursday with my surgeon and NUT and I can't wait so far my NUT said to cut down on my cardio and I should see the scale move ???? really....so that's where I'm at!!!

@ reginasjourney how many calories do you consume a day. How much carbs Protein and fat do you get in. Are you exercising and are you eat regular foods or still on soft. I'm just curious because your doing amazing and mine is coming off soooo slow

@4mnurse I am getting around 800 to 1000 calories but it's on the lower side. I walk and do Water aerobics 3 times a week. When I do that I up my calories because I am biting what I eat. I stalled for about 10 days and then I up the Protein and it started to come off again. Hopes this helps.

I am 2 weeks out and I have lost about 7 pounds. I am not expecting to lose weight quickly. I am 4'11", started with a low BMI, and I have hypothyroidism. If I can lose about 8 pounds a month, I will be a happy camper.

@ reginasjourney I too eat 800-1000 calories a day doing 40 minutes of cardio 5 days a week and I consume 80-100g of Protein a day but still the weight is coming off too slow for me. I'm so frustrated.....

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
