joy59 81 Posted September 14, 2014 I am scheduled for a robatic RNY Oct 7th.
Fab@Forty 24 Posted September 14, 2014 I had lap and with a daVinci 7 years ago and am scheduled for a lap band removal revision to RNY gastric bypass on the 17th. It was a great process. It really enables the surgeon to see around things that would be impossible to the eye alone. Healing is faster also. I hope this helps!! Where are you having it done? I am in Northern VA and Dr Moazzez is doing my surgery.

rhfactor272 50 Posted September 14, 2014 When and where did you have your surgery? I had mine on Aug 12th in Federal Way, WA. I had RNY as well as my gallbladder removed. I couldn't be more happy with my recovery time.

DaronB 103 Posted September 15, 2014 @@Fab@Forty, I'm in North Carolina and will be having surgery on October 31. My surgeon is doing the DaVinci Robotic Surgery. His website has a full write up about it and they explained it to me in detail. Basically, the benefits of robotic surgery is better recovery time, less pain post op, less invasive. I'm excited about it. The doctor is still in control, but the use of the machine gives him better range of movement and a better view, as he can see the surgical area in 3D through the system. smiley922 447 Posted September 15, 2014 I am having the robotic RNY on Oct 14, I had a thread on it a couple weeks back with several comments from folks who had it done, you might check that out for more responses. One woman had complications, her staples would not stay in, and he had to suture which took many hours. everyone else had good experience, with no or minimal complications. http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/315351-anybody-had-the-roux-en-y-done-robotically/

Fab@Forty 24 Posted September 16, 2014 Hello all - no daVinci for me today. I will have a regular laparoscopic procedure today.
Beni 1,484 Posted September 16, 2014 That's okay! You'll be out that much faster. It's takes about 30 minutes longer to do it with Robotics.

Fab@Forty 24 Posted September 18, 2014 Fab@@forty hope you are doing well why not the daVinci? Hi Joy59 - the daVinci team that my MD would normally use were not available. So, he just did the regular laparoscopic procedure. I will be going home today and I feel pretty good. Of course I am still sore, but it's bearable.
