jrahrer71 13 Posted October 16, 2014 I am so discouraged yesterday was two weeks post op for me and I haven't lost anything in a week! I have no idea why. I can't stop crying and I just feel like I made a huge mistake. I so feel your pain. The same thing happened to me. I stopped losing weight day 8. I have lost 12 pounds total. My doctor says this is normal. so don't panic. I'm trying not to. I do feel a difference in my clothes.
jrahrer71 13 Posted October 16, 2014 I am a month out today. I know that everyone's diets are very different. I'm wondering about how many calories people are eating. I am exercising about 4 days a week for 45-60 minutes a day. I burn between 500-750 calories. Tonight I am starving but I have had 850 calories. Does this sound about right? mefosburg 18 Posted October 16, 2014 I'm in the middle of week three. My first week I lost 15 lbs. I've gained 10 in the last two weeks. I'm doing everything I am suppose to. I'm moving all the time as well as working out 40 minutes a day. What am I doing wrong? I'm getting frustrated!
AllofMe 49 Posted October 16, 2014 I also stalled for two weeks after my surgery. Now at week four I started losing about 1/2 pound per day. So hang in there. ☺️AllofMe

Last week, I was up 5lbs, then the next morning after a serious BM, I was down 7. I also have issues with Water retention since I'm not drinking enough (it hurts!) and my ankles are always swollen. Today is my 1 month surgeversary!
susieq321 31 Posted October 16, 2014 For those who have moved off of liquids an onto solids how are you doing with full? I am working through week two of puree and mush and I am working through full, hungry vs full or no longer hungry. I am a former bandster and with the band you eat until full, the band is placed around the top of the stomach and forms a pouch allowing you to eat a little at a time quantity wise. Some of the former band patients have mentioned vs. eating until you are full, you eat until you are not hungry after 12 years plus with a band this is a completely different mindset I am adjusting too. Trying to adjust to exactly at what point I am hungry vs. not hungry. I understand hungry with the sleeve, I feel hunger (I am averaging about 600 cals per day or less, so hunger is there and it is true hunger vs. head hunger.) I am wondering how people know when to stop? I haven't vomited, I have felt uncomfortably full, last night was full not overly full. Just curious how everyone is learning and doing with the concept of full and when to stop eating?? Just working through my head stuff.
Rsims1985 1 Posted October 16, 2014 I try to measure my food out or if eating out cut out the portion I think is right. Then I stop eating and wait a little bit to let the full feeling kick in. I was sleeved 9/7/14 and have lost 25 lbs so far ????
auntjanny 289 Posted October 16, 2014 9/22 sleeved, and am on soft foods now, I am working on slowing down and chewing when eating. I eat until I get stomach feedback.., ie a sense of pressure or discomfort. I am still primarily on a full/puréed stage so that I get Protein in. I have not really gotten the full feeling yet, as I think I am eating too fast.

Take your own food, you are still on soft mushies and chewing pizza enough is hard. Also pizza isn't the best choice to make if you are trying to lose weight. Right now fresh from surgery is the best time to form new habits and not test your healing stomach. I found it much easier to stick to a regime while I am losing and then add moderation in when I hit goals.

vickydp 20 Posted October 16, 2014 Hi All! Sleeved on 9/23. Drinking tons of Water and for the most part eating chicken salad, eggs, etc. on puree till next Wednesday. My biggest issue is I haven't lost much weight. I weighed 256 and went down to 241 on the 14 day pre op liquid diet. 241 day of surgery and now am at 229. I'm probably eating 500-600 calories a day. The other issue I'm still battling is horrible shoulder pains from the gasses. I'm being told it could take 6 weeks to go away. Any sleevers out there who have had similar experience? Especially lack of weight loss in first month. Very disheartening.
Pamela870 21 Posted October 16, 2014 Today my whole office ordered in lunch from Jimmy Johns (which has nothing I can eat or want to eat). It was very frustrating. I stayed in my office and had my very delicious meal that I brought to work. I find that I feel emotional about these types of things. I know this is a choice I made and I am so happy I did, I just need to figure out how to process my feelings and what they are all about. I have caught my self doing this a couple different times now and usually it is around a situation were I don't have any control over my food choices or I haven't had a opportunity to pre plan. Last night I went to costco after work and by the time I got home I was overly tired and could not figure out what to eat. Nothing sounded good. I just stood in front of the fridge and the tears started. Has anyone else experienced this or have any tips? I was sleeved on the 17th.

Starting weight was 252.6, got down to 241.8 with pre op diet, and weighed in this morning at 230.4. I had a straight week without losing an ounce! I feel you! But just remember it's a process. We'll get there! It may seem like nothing so far, but just remember...you will NEVER be in the 250's, 240's, or 230's again. That's saying a lot and a huge accomplishment.
