How are all the September friends doing? Started up Vitamins this week and feel pretty good. on Calcium -- found the gummies coated with fine sugar didn't work for me. Too overly sweet. I found calcium chocolate chews that are like Viactiv or something that starts with a V. hit the plateau and just keeping patient. Thinking of you guys!

Just a suggestion for everyone. I found a homemade scar removal cream!

4 tsp lemon juice

4 tsp honey

1 egg white

Preparation:

To prepare this cream all you need to do is add all ingredients to a bowl, mix well, and your homemade scar removal cream is ready for use!

Use:

Apply the cream directly onto your scar and leave it for 15 minutes, then wash it off. Repeat the treatment once a week.

If you use it regularly, your scars will completely heal within several weeks.

@ "vluciano93" My dr told me I could eat anything soft pretty much. I eat Soups a lot, cheese and mash potatoes. It goes down easy. I don't think I get enough Protein everyday either and that could be why I'm always hungry. Seems to me my appetite has not changed at all. Loading up on protein I guess should keep you full. I get the benefits of having protein daily but if you got the part cut out that helps reduce hunger feelings then why have protein to stay feeling full. This is not what I thought it would be so far. I like the restriction of not being able to eat a lot at once but I still feel hungry as before. Not to mention this 2week stall I've been on. Maybe it will change.

Any suggestions. My doctor told me to take miralax and collace stool softener but no help... can any body tell me what helps you with Constipation. .

Try Cal-Mag. It's a Calcium magnesium drink, hot like tea, before bed. Works for me. Buy at health food stores. Good luck.

Are you tracking calories in and out? I find that helps me understand where I am.

You also need protein to heal and it produces energy for a longer steadier period than carbs. Do not underestimate how important good lean protein sources are to losing weight and staying healthy while doing it.

Your body needs protein whether it comes from vegetable or animal products. And depending on your body not all of the gremlin receptors are cut out with the stomach some people find they still feel intense hunger.

I had the pain on the right side coupled with lower back pain. Mine last a good three weeks then thankfully, was gone. I still have the icky sharp pain if I move or bend in certain positions.

Im 21 days post op and im still having pain on my left side where they took the rest of the stomach out. When does the muscle pain stop? I also have lower back pain... anyone else having fhis problem? ? Surgery sept 30th

At 21 days I still had that pain. At 32 days it was pretty much all gone. Hang in there - another 2 weeks and you should be through the worst of it.

Sharon are those salukis in your photo?

Yes - we raise, show, dabble in obedience, hunt, and course our salukis. Our kennel is Obi-Wan Salukis. The pic is from 30 years ago, when my body was a brick house and I bellydanced a lot.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
