I was sleeved on 9/16 and today is the first day I wasn't nearly bed ridden with fatigue. Not that I am ready to run a marathon or anything, but I actually did two loads of laundry today ! My fatigue was probably worse than most because I was on a constant dose of Benadryl since Friday because I had an allergic reaction to the glue they used to close the incisions. The rash spread to most of my upper abdomen, including my breasts and I was in total agony. I finally talked them into prescribing me prednisone and that had helped greatly so I didn't need to take the Benadryl today (still itchy though, using cortisone cream for that).

I was sleeved on 09/10, down 24 lbs in the first 2 weeks. I'm on soft foods at this point. I have not lost weight in about 4 days...which I know is silly to complain about since I've lost 24 lbs in 2 weeks. Could I already be at a stall?? Could my body be freaking out about that amount I lost so fast or something?? I just cant imagine I'm already at a stall.

I know how you feel. I've been stuck at 18 lbs for the last 4 days. I think we get spoiled at the scale moving so fast. It can't always be that way I guess.

I recently stalled out too. Sleeved 9/2 down now 21 lbs. since surgery. I stalled out on 9.14-9.22. I am finally down 1 lb. after a week of nothing. From what I know, it is normal. it will come off eventually, you just have to give your body time to adjust.

i personally started doing the daily weigh ins but became way to compulsive about it. I figured we women have hormones that work against us and we will have Water buildup at times. so to put my mind at ease i do measurements every 2-3 weeks and weigh in monthly. hope this helps

Day 10 post op and I'm down 17lbs! Had my first post op visit yesterday and dr gave me the OK to go back to the gym, just no weight training! Even with my current stage of exhaustion, I'm gonna try it out today and see how it goes. The treadmill will be my best friend today! Let's see how this goes. Wish me luck!

Hi there.....had my surgery on the 15th and for the most part, am doing well. The hardest part is getting in the Protein my Dr wants but I'm plugging along. Tomorrow is my first post op check up so we'll see what he says. I do feel weak from time to time but I guess that is to be expected. Good luck to all on their journey!

  • Sleeved 9/8, on pureed food. Poached eggs this morning--so good!
  • I'm not having any issues, no nausea or gas pains. I'm able to eat easily but had my first instance yesterday of not being able to finish a small cup of yogurt. I'm not pushing any more than prescribed foods but I certainly am anxious to CHEW something.
  • vluciano93--protein drinks are the pits. I have to blend mine with ice to make them even tolerable. Also, try adding 2 tablespoons of PB2 (dehydrated peanuts) to you Protein Shakes. It really takes the powdered milk taste out of it. Plus it adds more Protein and few calories.

Someone mentioned diarrhea, you shouldn't have that. You might be allergic to whey in Protein Drinks. Call your doctor.

The poster that mentioned diarrhea is only two weeks post op. According to my surgeon's office and the FAQs on this forum it's totally normal to have diarrhea for a few weeks after surgery.

Day two post op and pain not bad. I'm having a horrible time drinking. I did get one 16 oz Water down so far. I took some gasx according to the doctor and then I got nauseous later. I'm just laying in bed now. Done walking for now.

I am wishing for diarrhea or anything. I just want to go. I have used Colace every day, mMiralax and am not sure what else to do. I now believe that the scale won't move because I'm full of it! LOL. I feel better everyday. I do have dizzy spells in the mornings.....not sure why. Does anyone else have them?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
