kyrickchick64 468 Posted September 7, 2014 Omg I ran out of the house this morning not even thinking about eating. So I'm trying to stay on my 1200 pre op diet. I was doing grocery shopping and realized I hadn't eaten anything. So I grabbed a Protein Bar. So I on my way home and realized it was doing bad things to my belly. I have been in there at least 5 times. Guess I need to stick too real food.
AvaFern 3,516 Posted September 7, 2014 Did you eat one of those Fiber One bars? OMG. They taste great, but they tear up my stomach as well. They used to make me sick even before surgery, but now I stay away from them. Hope you feel better soon!

I can do the fiber one type. These were like the cliff or Luna bars. Thank you I am better.
sengelken 51 Posted September 8, 2014 I love those Fiber One Protein Bars but have to stay away from them or I'll have eaten the whole box! If I close my eyes the coconut almond ones taste just like a Mounds can't bar!! Lol!!
James Marusek 5,244 Posted September 8, 2014 There are different types of Protein bars. Some are loaded with sugar. Need to stay away from those. My preference is QuestBars. They have a lot of varieties. I am not sure what type of surgery you are scheduled to have. I had a RNY and after about 6 months I began using Protein Bars when I was away from home and couldn't blend up a Protein shake. By the way, your tastes will change after surgery.
