jnevr480 66 Posted September 7, 2014 I had surgery 2 days ago and last night and today my chest is killing me. Anytime I take a deep breath or swallow anything it is a stabbing pain in the middle of my chest. Has anyone else experienced this?

Has anyone else experienced this? yes, major surgery inside your body and the swelling from that plus the gas they used are all causes of this...please just relax...dont take deep breaths as you know it hurts..i am letting you know it does and it will get better....if you want to, tell your dr tomorrow and let them ease your mind. cheryl2586 3,053 Posted September 7, 2014 Call your doctor. It may or may not be gas pains. So many things can happen after surgery. It could be a pulmonary embolism but you need to call your doctor and let him know. This not the place for those kinds of questions. Any time you are having abnormal pain or symptoms call your doctor. I may or may not be serious but that should be his decision.
