My 6 month surgiversary was on the 3rd but I hit the 100lb mark yesterday from my preop weight. Now, unfortunately the last 8lbs was from some serious dehydration from being sick (not surgery related) and I expect some of it to come back, but I figured I'm sick and miserable so I might as well Celebrate what I can. I'm down from a 24 bottom 3x top to a 14 and L tops. I actually bought my first medium at old navy last night!

At this point I have no regrets. This has been the best thing I've ever done for myself.

Hi, I am all for celebrating and the 100 lb mark is down right a miracle in my book. Do you have the flu? Hope you feel better soon

Congratulations!! You look great, I see you have been in a race as well. Way to grab on to your second chance. I have no regrets either. Past my 1/2 way mark, 71 lbs to go. We are so blessed to have this opportunity for a healthier life.

Thanks everyone.

I didn't have the flu. I got sick almost 3 weeks ago right after the walk I did. They thought it was a sinus infection but it turns out I actually have asthma. I've been trying so hard to work out since I fully recovered from surgery and I've been struggling with getting sick for a prolonged period twice and I just have trouble running for more than about 30 seconds at a time. Now I know why. But at least now I've got it figured out I can approach the gym knowing it's just going to take me longer than it would other people. I've just got to baby my lungs a bit.

Congrats. As a fellow asthma person I find that I can do other cardiovascular things that don't involve running. Like I can do most classes without having shortness of breath.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
