mamie60 104 Posted September 5, 2014 Hi everyone, It will be 8 weeks this Tuesday since I had my Roux-en-Y surgery. Today I got on the scale and I weigh less than 300 pounds! I haven't been less than 300 pounds for 10 years I was almost in tears when I saw that number 298! I feel so blessed and lucky to have had the surgery done! I had a very smooth recovery and I am a rule follower so I have never vomited I've never had dumping syndrome and I'm a fiend for exercise now. I'm walking 7 miles a day and going to do my first 5K next weekend. Thanks for all of your support and role modeling that you have given me!! darby1430 28 Posted September 7, 2014 Wow that's good...this 5k is very hilly and strenuous....i did it last year and pushed myself and i finished.... I just dont want to push too hard too soon....was two weeks post op too soon for you? Did you have any problems?
mamie60 104 Posted September 7, 2014 Darby, I walked at my own pace. I don't think I could've jogged it usually took me over 2hrs. I have not had any complications or real problems since surgery. I am doing my first 5K run/walk next week end and I will walk. I'm not at the jogging phase yet.
