carolk36 142 Posted September 5, 2014 and all went very well! With the exception of MAJOR gas pains across my ribs, I'm not having any other pain, and those are almost completely gone. I'm still on Clear liquids and let me tell you, 64oz ounces has been impossible. Yesterday I got in about half that amount and I'm hoping to do a little better with it today...sipping on diluted lite grape juice and I write. My last meal was Sunday night around 7pm and I am still not hungry in the least. I am allowed to try 4ozs of a Protein Shake tonight, then slowing add up to 4ozs three times a day. If I can tolerate that, then I will be on full liquids on Monday. Other than walking a little slow, and being a little tired, I feel great! Much better than I expected I would. I'll be glad to answer any questions anyone has about my experience so far. Carol

tiffdmill 26 Posted September 5, 2014 Hi Carol! Congrats! I was sleeved on the 3rd. How's your incision pain?
tamg26k 479 Posted September 5, 2014 Excellent! Glad everything went so good for you. I had a pretty easy time with my surgery as well. The pain from the gas was the only paid I really had. I was able to get by with only taking 1 pain pill the entire time of recovery. I thought that I would NEVER be able to drink 64 oz. of Water or much less an entire Protein shake. It got a bit easier with the drinking and eating small amounts. Now, almost 2 months out just a few issues if I eat too fast or take too big if a bite of food. Good Luck! carolk36 142 Posted September 6, 2014 @@tiffdmill I've had very little incision pain. I still have my bandages on and they are pretty thick. I think that helps a lot. Best of luck to you! Thanks everyone!
redwings fan 16 Posted September 6, 2014 My surgery was the 3rd and my back pain is as bad as my gas pain. Its finally starting to break up today but all.of my pain is across the top around where the drain was. My doc called and said my white blood of nts were high the last two days in the hospital so I need to go in for labs on Mon. Really hoping I don't have an infection. Larly109 19 Posted October 3, 2014 Walk as much as you can - it really does help with the gas - and ask your doctor if you can have some Gas-X.
