When are we allowed to re-introduce raw vegetables? I am 7 weeks post op and have very little stomach capacity. My post-op diet only covered the first 6 weeks. Not sure if there are things I still need to avoid, or if it would be ok to eat normally (just a lot less).

Right now at 7 weeks out I would not eat raw veggies. I would wait until you completely heal and stick to easier foods to digest at this point.

In a few weeks try a salad. A bite or two. At this point you really need to concentrate on the Protein and Water intake. :)

So your surgeon or program just left you hanging at six weeks with no guidance as to how to proceed next? Is there a nutritionist attached to the program you can see? It's hard to tell someone what they should be eating as every surgeon had a different approach. I had my surgery on July 18th. For the first 10 days I existed on Water and broth. My surgeon wants nothing else going down there. I'm still in the pureed soft stage and will remain there for another few weeks. I'm ok with that as I have very little capacity to eat much. I drink skim milk with unflavored Protein Powder and that's how I get the bulk of my Protein. You will probably get lots of responses as to what everyone is doing. BTW, I believe most people are given a guide to follow through the stages. Ask your nutritionist.

I was able to introduce raw veggies and fruit at 12 weeks. However, bananas and cooked veggies were introduced earlier. If you're still feeling a lot of restriction, stick to Protein. Even though I can now eat veggies, they aren't a big part of my diet. Once I eat my protein, I'm usually pretty satisfied. And, be careful of lettuce and the peels of fruit/veggies. Your stomach will "yell" at you when you first eat them :)
