I had my mind set on the sleeve..I wasn't told I couldn't have it done but.. due to my acid reflux.. they do not recommend the sleeve.. I don't want to leave this forum and go to the bypass.. you guys are so cool and I learned so much..lol.. Idk if I want to do something so invasive but I don't want acid reflux to get worse.. Have you asked if there is any medications he can put you on in the beginning since the stomach will be so irritated after the procedure? What about the lapband? A man in my support group had the sleeve and just continues to take his nexium. That may be the way to go. If you really want the sleeve you may need to take the meds. If he is fine there shouldn't be no reason 4 u 2 be fine 2.
#9grammy 274 Posted September 5, 2014 Hi, I have acid reflux really bad. They found I also have the hiatal hernia, which my surgeon said he will fix first. So I'm hoping after the fix and with my sleeve I will no longer have reflux. If I do there is always staying on the stomach pills.
