amazon 579 Posted September 9, 2014 I go in for my 4 week check up tomorrow. The only issue I've been having for a few days is unpredicable stomach pains (gas?). I *think* it's becuase I'm full, but it's happened at some odd times, i.e. when I haven''t had anything to eat or drink for a little while. The pains can be really unconfortable, making it hard to take a normal breath. If not all ready standing, I have to stand up and walk around. Lots of times I burp a few times, things grumble, and it eventually subsides but it takes a while. I've also noticed I have to eat less. For example, used to eat 4 oz of greek yogurt, or 4 oz of blended Soup. I can still manage the Soups (mostly), but with yogurt I can only get down 2oz before I don't want it and start to get a full feeling. Then I burp and say, that's it! I do eat very slowly, with tiny bites. I've slowed things even more, hoping it would help, but no. I'm hoping it's just that my stomach is healing and I'm starting to feel more. What's disconcerting is that when I get this pain, it's on the left side, just below the ribs, also up under ribs and left boob. I thought left side pain was potentially a problem...but I'll know tomorrow. I was really hoping I'd get moved on to the next food stage (mushies). Fingers crossed! Oh ,and to make things even more enjoyable - TMI warning - my visitor is back after only 2.5 weeks. sigh. Comes along with WLS I guess :-)
DevineMissM 59 Posted September 9, 2014 Amazon, I am Looking forward to hear what your doctor says. I also am getting more sensitive to stomach discomfort and have also found I must consume less ounces to prevent the discomfort. I am finding in very difficult to slow my eating down. Any suggestions?

Any suggestions? @@DevineMissM I wish I had an answer, lol. I don't even really want to eat or drink because it's uncomfortable. I wish I could say that slowing down my eating helped (which I though was all ready slow - putting down the spoon, etc). Am I swallowing air? It's like, where are these burps coming from I'll be sure to post a follow up after my appt. tomorrow afternoon. Hope you're doing ok!
DevineMissM 59 Posted September 9, 2014 Amazon, when I went for my 10 day check up I filled out a questionnaire that asked if I suffered from "frothing". I had never even heard of it. The other day I tried to eat a piece if fish (it's on my legal foods). WOW, I probably ate 3oz too quickly and really suffered. I did froth (thick foamy stuff coming from my stomach) and eventually had to purge to get relief. Now I have discomfort whenever I eat, and must eat only about 1-2 oz. thanks for sharing and please post what doctor says. I was sleeved 8/25. Karen Scott 117 Posted September 9, 2014 That also happened to me I had tilapia and it didn't sit well with me. I had a lot of froth and had to relieve myself to feel better. Another meat that doesn't sit well with me is chicken and I love chicken, use to life eggs now I can't stand it smells raw...wat else is there for me to eat. I really hope this gets better. One thing I know little tummy likes is cheese taste good goes down good. Oh well! The price I paid I guess
DevineMissM 59 Posted September 9, 2014 Karen, I was thinking I just ate too much...could that have been the case for you? When were you sleeved? I'll try fish again next week. I'm not sure if I can eat cheese, but I love it. Today I can try ground meats, I am a little nervous.

Beckyj1023 11 Posted September 9, 2014 I was sleeved on August 12th. Lost 21 lbs so far but that was the first 2 weeks. I had the 3 week stall as well. I think stepping on the scale constantly wasn't helping either. But the good news is... I've never lost 21 lbs EVER!. I'm feeling good. I had a post op appt. yesterday and I can now start stage 5 - chewable food! I'm kind of scared. I dont want to gain. Still today, I kept it to yogurt, a Protein shake, refried Beans with cheese, applesauce and Water. I am not getting the 60-80 grams of Protein needed but my doc said now that I can eat regular food, I should be able to. We'll see. I just can't fit all that food in. I'm so glad I had this surgery. The one thing I hated was pureed foods!! Ick!! But I knew it wouldnt be forever - Thank GOD!! Best of luck to all of you
amyfoley4 1 Posted September 9, 2014 I had my sleeve 8/25/14 . I am always thirsty too. That is the worst part of it all.
Sas322 19 Posted September 10, 2014 Hi. I had my sleeve on 8/27/14. I've lost about 21lbs and am feeling pretty good. I've been wearing my fitbit and trying to get in at least 6000+ steps this week working my way back to 10,000 a day. I feel good I am just really bored with the liquid diet and find myself craving foods although I am not hungry. Thursday I get to add some "real" food. Glad to have this place to share. Thanks.
