shantra 73 Posted September 4, 2014 I need help guys. I went to see the dietician today, my final appointment of all my pre-requisites and they have submitted for my insurance approval. He told me to start the no drinking while eating straight away and said I can't drink until TWO hours after. Well let me tell you, I managed just over an hour feeling like my food was sitting like lead the whole time.. at dinner this is so bad. We eat around 6 or so and we go to bed about 8:30 - 9:00 so if I am late eating I won't even get a drink after. Two hours seems way over the top. Comments? pink dahlia 2,513 Posted September 4, 2014 Never heard of 2 hrs, only the 30 mins rule. No idea why you would need 2 hrs. How in the world would you get enough liquids in ? Also, you'd have dehydration to deal with in warmer weather. Id ask your Dr. why the 2 hr rule.

RitaRIver 3 Posted October 14, 2014 Hey all! I'm new to lap band journey! I have a lot of questions. One being: Is there a specific reason why we can't eat and drink at the same time? I find this problematic because I get really bad heartburn and drinking while I eat tends to help that a lot!
TheDude84023 19 Posted October 24, 2014 Hey all! I'm new to lap band journey! I have a lot of questions. One being: Is there a specific reason why we can't eat and drink at the same time? I find this problematic because I get really bad heartburn and drinking while I eat tends to help that a lot! This is what I was told by my drs office My understanding is you don't drink with meals with the band because it will either wash the food through your stomach pouch defeating the purpose of the band, our it will glaze the food and make you vomit.
