Camping man 0 Posted September 3, 2014 I've been on my pre-op diet 7 days and I'm getting really hungry. Any suggestions??
Rogofulm 2,440 Posted September 3, 2014 You may also be thirsty. You'll find that after surgery, thirst can disguise itself as hunger. So start with some Water, tea, or other approved fluids. If that doesn't work, you can have another shake, or Greek yogurt, or sugar free Jello or popsicles. I also drank low-sodium chicken broth sometimes as a change from dairy. The good news is that after surgery you're no longer hungry. Hang in there!

honeybunz 139 Posted September 3, 2014 I'm on day 3 (liquids only for 2 weeks) and I would love to eat too. Although I'd have to say that today is easier than yesterday. I admit, I shed a few tears yesterday. I am determined to make it though. My sister said this to me and it makes things a little easier when I read it. "When it gets tough, just remember you've tasted everything and you will taste it again. I know it's hard." Good luck and best wishes!!

LAG50 46 Posted September 3, 2014 This stuff is great guys & gals. So glad I found this thread. A class-mate from pre-op class turned me on to this App/forum this past Tues, and I'm so glad. I'm actually reading here more than I'm reading my official binder from the hospital.... But don't tell my medical team...lol. I am having my surgery on Monday, September 15, and because I don't have a wife, a lady friend are actually anyone, this site really helps. I had to dig a little deeper for some "guy" responses, but I finally found some. I think the guy reality is - the less the better. I don't have any hair, so when I shave my head and face the night before that should last me for the overnight stay. What I wear in is what I will wear out I guess. Thinking a little shaving bag type thing with toothbrush deodorant etc. should be enough. I think I may take you up on the nice pajama deal since I don't want my - uh - "back" hanging out while doing laps in the hospital halls lol.
