Suddenly Siri 16 Posted September 3, 2014 Last night I dreamed about Broccoli. I hate broccoli... But It looked like pure ambrosia in my dream. I've been on the liquid diet now for almost 2 weeks (The dietician had me satart it a week early to boost a little weight loss. ) I've got headaches, I'm tired, cranky, and feel like a space cadet most days. I cheated once.. last Thursday. I was at a steelers pre season game and ate about 10 french fries.. I've had to boycott Facebook, for the simple fact that it seems like everyone is posting about food. Or at least I'm noticing how much people post about food. I've had to cut out how much regular tv I watch.. Besides being bombarded with food in commercials. Has anyon ever noticed on sitcom how much of the time people are eating? I'm not using this as an excuse for why I'm over weight, however as a society we're pretty bombarded with food and the idea of eating ( True story watch a marathon of Big Bang Theory, count off how many times in an episode they are eating) Anyone else waging this uphill battle? My Surgery date is September 16th. I'm looking for any advice to get through the next 12 days.
auntiemel 275 Posted September 3, 2014 It's funny how they eat all the time, but never really eat. I'm lucky to be on a food diet, very low carb. liquid diets tend to be harder to follow. Can you eat veggies or anything?
Suddenly Siri 16 Posted September 3, 2014 Nope, just 4 slimfast high protien shakes or 5 Atkins shakes a day plus all the broth and Jello I want. I hate Jello now
April206 128 Posted September 3, 2014 Hang in there! It's rough - I was on a shake only diet for 2 weeks (couldn't stand any more broth and jello!). Drinking Water helped me, as well as walking around the block when that "crap, I'm gonna lose my mind" feeling hit. Hope that helps.
lauramae 26 Posted September 3, 2014 I was on my liquid pre-op for 3 weeks. Post surgery was 3 more liquid weeks. When you remember why you are doing this, it makes it easier. You can do it!!! Try to remember that this is a marathon not a sprint.
