I am still in the paper work stage and have my first appt. with Dr. Clark May 21, 2007. What is PB? It does not sound good.

Picture if you will... You have just eaten a huge chunk of steak and you forgot to chew it well. It sits on top of the band opening and won't go down. A surprise to you, your body begins to create this incredibly thick slime not unlike clear motor oil, trying to help the steak go through. It doesn't. The slime begins to back up...you begin to sweat...and you're pretty sure your life is over. You think you can't breathe, although you can. Your skin begins to turn pale and then red. You hold your arms over your head hoping that will help. You pace. You begin to pray...please go one way or the other. Your body decides...it's coming up! You run to the bathroom with a paper towel, and one good heave and it's up! There are no digestive juices with it, so it doesn't burn coming up. It just comes up. The final step of a PB is that you SWEAR you'll never do that again! But you will.....

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
