Hey Everyone,

I am 3 weeks post op and am cleared to add boiled eggs and mashed Beans and banana into my diet. So, today i tried a boiled egg and of course only ate half. But it really made me more nauseous and now everything I smell is making me nauseous and cringe. Its been going on for 5 hours, no pain or vomiting. Can anyone tell me what this may be about? If so, any recommendations on over the counters I can grab to manage it a bit since I have a paper to write for school. :(

You may not be ready for those foods. eggs and Beans were very tough on my stomach for months and months. I didn't try bananna till around 6 months, and even then, Frankensleeve just wanted to seize up after 1 bite.

2 foods I lived on and never had probles with, creamy Peanut Butter and Cream of Mushroom Soup.

At 3 weeks out I bet it has a lot to do with moisture. Boiled eggs can suck the lube out of your mouth so imagine what it does to your baby pouch. Egg beaters are awesome. Melt done cheese, add a little salsa or whatever sounds good to your pouch and try a 1/4 cup at first,

I'm a month out, and I can't eat hard boiled or fried eggs, but I can eat soft boiled and scrambled eggs. New stomachs are finicky little things!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
