Need answers to sleeved a to work question?

Recommended Posts

I'm having surgery September 26, 2014. I just received an email to travel and do makeup for a wedding October 4th 2014. Do anyone have an idea if I'll be able to accept the job or would that be to soon after surgery to work in that field?

I don't know your age or general state of health, but I personally needed every day of my two week leave, and I have a desk job. My first few days back to work were rocky because I had so little energy. I just couldn't get in more than a few hundred calories a day for the first few weeks.

@@IcanMakeit thanks for your response! I am 39 with hypertension. I've read so many post of people going back to work in as little as 5 days! I honestly didn't know what to tell the blushing bride, although I do know that everyone is different, and after reading your response alone, I'm going to turn it down :(

It's a bummer to turn down work, but you might have the same problem getting enough nutrition that so many of us had. Better safe than sorry.

I walked the mall slowly 5 days after sleeving. However, 8 days after sleeving I could not have traveled very far, stooped and bent over doing makeup on people. I lifted a laundry basket about 10 days after surgery (forgot the no lifting rule) and had pain for over 24 hours. Better safe than sorry, let yourself heal. Blessings your way.

for a couple of months after surgery you won't be able to lift over 10 pounds. Take it easy and heal and for future jobs over the next few months, remember the no lifting policy. Good luck. you are going to love your sleeve. The first 2 or 3 weeks is a learning process but after that you will be flying high.

I am just not sure you'll feel up to it. Travel is also tricky because of the blood clot risk, which is very high after surgery, so they tell you to walk, walk, walk.. I would sit this one out and focus on your body, our health. Everyone is different and I am one of those people who heals exceptionally well, but I think you will be so grateful not to have to do it!

Best of luck to you!! :)
