Katykate94.. I found refried Beans to be a lifesaver.. Top with shredded cheese and fat free sour cream,. I made a pot of white chicken chili for my family and then puréed up my portion.. Great amount of Protein and very tasty. I used the can chicken a lot.. Mixed with light miracle whip, mustard... Made chicken salad. Egg whites were a great reprieve.. Even could make up deviled eggs... Eat the centers and then mash up the whites.

I agree with the Beans. I am now 3 months out and still have beans with melted cheese once a day because it gives a big Protein kick (and tastes good). Other purées I liked were cottage cheese, Fage 2% Greek yogurt plain mixed with a bit of strawberry Protein Powder for flavor, SF Jello, and hummus... just plain hummus, yummy.

I agree with the above statements, chicken, Beans, and fish are excellent source of Protein, I can no longer eat cheese or eggs but I have found that tuna, fish and chicken is excellent.

I agree with all of the above. I loved refried Beans and put puréed salsa in them to give them A kick in the taste buds. Garlic was also my friend with things like puréed chicken. I really added spices to make things more palatable.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
