Gendy 27 Posted August 31, 2014 Has anyone been told to quit the caffeine prior to surgery? My Dr has and I'm really having a hard time switching to caffeine free coffee. I need something to wake me up in the morning.
Katcloudshepherd 630 Posted August 31, 2014 (edited) Has anyone been told to quit the caffeine prior to surgery? My Dr has and I'm really having a hard time switching to caffeine free coffee. I need something to wake me up in the morning. I titrated myself off of coffee SLOWLY. I drank 3/4 caffeinated for a week, then 1/2 caffeinated for a week and then 1/4 for a week until I was down to plain decaff. It WAS hard because I'm an avid coffee drinker. After I was 3 months out I was allowed caffeine again but every doctor is different. I was so glad I got off the caffeine BEFORE surgery because you don't need to be dealing with headaches or caffeine withdrawal AFTER surgery. Good luck with your surgery. I hope it goes well and you have an easy recovery, Kathleen Edited August 31, 2014 by Katcloudshepherd
Lizbiz 43 Posted August 31, 2014 Try cacao powder. I mix it in my Decaf and I am weird for sound after that. LOL No caffeine in it. Or try teecinno. It has chicory root which works a lot like cacao.
