LainieG 132 Posted July 17, 2015 @@Durlinda I had my surgery on June 15th. It was a breeze. No pain after second day. I also am 60 but was not worried due to my age. Very glad that I had this done. Welcome to the group !
sleevenv 483 Posted July 17, 2015 (edited) I've had several abdominal surgeries and can tell you this wasn't the worse by far. Not quite as painless as my laparoscopic gall bladder removal (because the stomach inside still hurts from being stapled), but not as bad as my full cut incision from a hysterectomy. I had liposuction years ago (when I weighed a grand total of 124 pounds) and it hurt a lot more. Truly, the first five days were crappy, but not necessarily painful. You can do this! Queen of Crop 1,104 Posted July 17, 2015 I was 58 when I had my surgery (almost 4 years ago) and I had no problems at all! (Except for the problems I had because of my weight and those all went away!). It took me a couple of months to get my energy back but all in all, it was easy. And now I feel like I am 20 years younger! You are in for a great adventure! Welcome to this wonderful group!

Kathy812 794 Posted July 17, 2015 (edited) Sure would like to hear from some of our members of this group, who are out a few weeks or month to hear how they are doing.Hey guys haven't been on here for a while. I am currently 9 months out today (ironically, I'm at my 9 month f/u appt now while writing this). Hw:243 Sw:228 Cw:176 My weight loss is relatively slow but I'm still losing. I wear a size 12 but they are starting to get a bit big & I can fit a few 10's now! Yeah! My goal size is an 8. Post op, I had no issues, sometimes I wondered if I had the surgery at all because it was so easy, lol. Now, my hunger is returning with a vengeance - it definitely takes decipline. As for those of you who are feeling hungry so early out, it may be heartburn. Try chewing tums. I've heard hearburn can mimick hunger. Good luck to the newbies &welcome to all who are new to this thread. Edited July 17, 2015 by Kathy812

LainieG 132 Posted July 18, 2015 My ticker is not updating. It is now back to an old weight, before it was correct. Any ideas ?
Queen of Crop 1,104 Posted July 19, 2015 Love hearing all the good news....as for hunger out this early, try starting the 5:2 already and get in the habit of it; it really does help. And LainieG...sorry I can't help with the ticker problem, but thank you for reading my book; it makes me so happy to know that others are being inspired by it; and for all your ongoing encouragement! You are really special!
