mrsaizsha_101 23 Posted September 3, 2014 Hey, so for the 6mnths of monitored weightloss I dont have a doctor that watched my progress. I do have a personal trainer that I was working out with for 7 months, a weightloss program I was apart of for 9 months and a gym membership I have had for a year. Do u ladys know if this will be accepted by our insurance? Have u submitted anything like this and if so how did it go??
mrsaizsha_101 23 Posted September 21, 2014 Im finally done with everything. I have to see my pulmonary doc wednesday to prescribe my cpap machine and to get the diagnosis for sleep apnea. Once I get that I will have everything I need to send to my coordinator to send to the insurance. The only thing im concerned about is the 6 month monitored weightloss. I dont have a doctor that monitored me but I was apart of a fitness program for 7 months and a gym membership. Im going to submit that. Prayerfully its not a problem! What did u guys submit for ur 6mnths weightloss monitoring? If u have had surgery yet how is everything going?

Chrys2L 10 Posted September 26, 2014 I also have United Health Care through my employer. I have a BMI of 30 and 2 co-morbits (Type 2 diabetese, high cholesteral and also barretts dieses.) I had to do a 6mo supervised diet. I could have done the diet through my primary care doctor. The visits have to once a month and the appointments have to be specifically for diet. The doctor has to log your weight, the diet plan you are on, what exercise you are doing and how often. At least that is what UHC told me. I was also told that not all UHC policies required the 6 month diet it depended on the employer. I only have 2 diet appointments left. Oct and Nov and then my case can be submitted for final approval. I am hoping to have my surgery no later than the first week of Dec. UHC stated approvals will be processed within 15 days of submition. Hope this was helpful. The 6 months is a pain but it goes by faster than you would thing. Still not fast enough.
