bandedmom14 2 Posted August 30, 2014 I can't sleep on my back, I wanted to know if it's ok to sleep on my right side? I forgot to ask the nurses today
JustWatchMe 7,117 Posted August 30, 2014 (edited) Congrats on your banding. I was told I could sleep however I was comfortable. For me that was on my right side. My port is on the left. I was back to sleeping on my stomach in a few days. It was a little sore but I sleep better that way. Many folks sleep in a recliner the first week. I wasn't that sore I guess. Good luck! LinsC 10 Posted August 30, 2014 I used pillows wedged under me to sleep on my side and relieve some of the pressure points.
CherieRyde 227 Posted August 30, 2014 I used a husband pillow to help prop me up so that I could sleep comfortably. I usually sleep half on my side and half on my stomach ... but I was too tender to do that for the first few days post-op. But yeah ... sleep however you can. Oh, and Congrats! bandedmom14 2 Posted August 30, 2014 Thank you all ! I'm just so nervous about moving the wrong way or doing the Wrong thing. I was able to sleep semi side and back with the help of a pillow.
Makinchanges4me 44 Posted August 31, 2014 I sleep on my side. But the first few days after surgery I was uncomfortable trying to sleep. My hubby bought me a wedge shaped pillow at Bed, Bath & Beyond. It kept me propped up a little and I slept better at night.
Debbie3sons 1,936 Posted August 31, 2014 I was a stomach sleeper apparently , because I was told that , so you can imagine when they told me not to sleep on my stomach till I was comfortable , so I used a LOT of pillows even on my adjustable bed , now I start on my left side , & Then when I am asleep I guess I either get comfortable on my stomach or right side , at least that's what I am told I know I start out on my left.
