How mucj biotin do i need a day?

The daily recommended allowance is only something like 35mcg. My bariatric Multivitamin includes Biotin and I really have no intention of taking any extra.

5000 mcg are common in what people take...I "heard" it won't keep you from losing hair but will help it grow back in quicker. You may not lose hair, some don't.

I thought that keeping Protein levels up will help prevent Hair loss.

I have done everything under the sun to prevent Hair loss and it finally caught up with me. A little over 3 months out. It has been my worst fear post op. Biotin, Protein, even some "miracle" scalp treatment.. And it keeps coming out. But I already see tiny new hairs sprouting in so I think that must be in part because of the biotin.

I take the 5,000 mcp pill everyday for my hair & nails. I also get in 60+ grams of Protein a day. I'm almost 4 months post op & I'm starting to have a tiny bit of Hair loss. Who knows what another month will bring. I've been looking at wigs - lol

Dr Michael Wiener on you tube suggest 10,000mg so I take 2 pills a day.
