iPhone 5. Every time I post response it freezes and I have to force close the app and restart it.

I also see the same topic posted 4 and 5 times in the timeline.

It's not duplicate posts just repetitive.

Very annoying

Not sure what motivation was. Don't like.

Are there known issues with "lock ups" with the new app? Today mine is locking up my phone over and over such that I have to literally push phone off button until it responds. I have iPhone 5

One other thing. It says I have 13 unread messages, but I don't have any unread messages and from the web browser, I have no messages. I tried looking at a few messages to get the number to go down, but it still says 13.

Alex, I'm logging off for awhile. The app keeps freezing for me as well and the user interface is just not as good as the previous version.

It's now freezing on every attempt to read anything. Can't use it now.

Since the "new app," I have NOT been able to access BP as before. I don't see things I normally see:

--I can't see my username link, recent topics, trends, nothing!

--I tried to post one time (only AFTER a LOT of trying to get to something where I could post. But the post didn't post.

--The one page I finally accessed seemed to "'jump."

--When I tap on the BP icon, all I first see is "Browse" at the top; then a list of four BP categories [four basic forums]. I don't see anything else. And clicking one of the forums just shows a list of some comments made there, but it's not at all the usual view.

I only use an iPAD for my 'mobile' access to BP (otherwise I'm on this desk computer or my laptop. No problem there; and I have not yet put BP on my wonderful Samsung phone [Android]). But the new mobile app is not working for me at all.

I'll be on the road for the next two weeks and am only taking my iPad. Sure would love to be able to see BP (for support!!) while I'm gone. Alex, please...take me back to the ol' time way!!

I am having the same issue with the new app. I have tried deleting and re-installing the app without any improvement. I am removing the app until the necessary improvements are made. It is frustrating and just easier to use the browser on my phone instead of the app.

As for the pop up ads and the forum ads, I understand and agree financial compensation is deserved and needed for those who work hard to keep this invaluable resource running. However, offering an option of a paid app would be welcome to many users.

The new navigation and organization is good once I got used to the changes. I do miss the option to read the new threads related to your particular topic of interest easily right upon opening the app. I LOVE the option to choose to follow a topic I have replied to instead of automatically being subscribed.

Thanks for working so hard to keep bariatric pal moving forward and striving for improvement. This forum is a wonderful resource!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
