It can take some time for you to adapt to your new eating habits. Plus, you should be trying to get in all your Protein and Water. If you are not, that could also be the problem. Lastly, you had surgery and it's a trauma to the body so keep that in mind.

The first month is the hardest, honestly. I remember thinking I would never get my strength back! Be sure to get in that Protein and drink your fluids. It's what the body needs :) And, if you are on blood pressure meds, be sure to monitor your vitals. I was on meds and was dizzy and weak. Turns out my bp had dropped so low I was about to pass out...and it wasn't from being dehydrated or not getting enough Protein in. I was jerked off my meds rather quickly approx. 1.5 months after surgery. My bp has been stellar ever since. My energy level shot through the roof as well....loving my banded life! Good luck and hang in there :)

Keep on top of this. Try to get some Iron in but counter that with prune juice so you don't get constipated. Strength should be coming back by now. Tell your doc if you're not improving and good luck!

@@tomeof Not getting in enough Protein and Water can totally zap your energy. Even though many of us have fat stores that our body could be pulling from for energy it doesn't know how to do that and it's looking for the usual intake of food that it has become accustomed to.

It will take time, and you don't want to lose muscle so get that Protein in one way or another and keep up the Water even if you have to sip it every minute or so. It's easy to become dehydrated and that can make you weak and tired as well as give you headaches and make you dizzy. Find a good chewable multivvitamin as well.

You can do it! Give yourself some time to rest and relax but work on taking good care of yourself as well, if your not feeling a little more like yourself soon give the doctor a call and check in with them. Let us know how your doing!

I'm still in the research phase for getting banded...I see lots of people talking about fitness and how they have so much energy, my question is where are they getting the energy from? Consuming less food means less calories and at what point does the body go into "starvation mode" and holds on to the weight?

The weight loss alone gave me incredible energy. Even after thirty pounds down I noticed it. We don't realize how exhausting it is for our bodies to carry the weight. Combine that with the draggy feeling from poor sleep and hypertension and I wonder sometimes how I dragged myself through each day. I have so much more energy now.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
