This is a good thread. Reading everyone's accomplishments is very motivating. My three favorite outcomes so far: 1) Diabetes is GONE. 2) I feel more confident. 3) I can walk for miles without a problem. Six months ago, I could barely walk a block.

1) I can hold my grand daughter close to my chest and hug her tightly.

2) I can now go anywhere I want and no one knows me. It is like starting over in a sense.

3) I can now stand, walk, clean my house, cook and do my own laundry. Housework is a breeze. Before my hubby had to do it all because of the pain I was in before surgery! :)

I am no longer gasping for breath and using asthma inhalers.........I get the coughing part especially! YAY!!!!! I am still on some meds and size 4 jeans will never cover my butt, but, its wonderful anyway, right? LOL!

Only 6 weeks out and have been on a 3 week stall. It may have broken yesterday. (That or I haven't had enough fluids!)

Here goes:

1. Walking through the store instead of immediately going for a scooter.

2. Having students say, "Did you do something different with your hair? You look good!".

3. Fewer meds and less pain and discomfort!!!

Only 2.5 weeks out and thrilled I feel better than I have in years.

1. Able to go shopping in stores without motorized carts:)

2. From 14 prescription meds to 4 daily. Woohoo!

3. Shopping in a fashionable store and buying cothes off the racks rather than ordering on line!

Life is good and getting better every day. Thank you Jesus!!!

Well, I just couldn't stop... 3 more...

4. new nickname among my close girlfriends (this is a compliment!) - skinnyB*tch which cracks me up everytime

5. I get to ride in the small spot/seat/scrunch location instead of being the huge person that everyone else had to accomodate for

6. I can climb in and out of the bed of my huge Dodge Ram 3500 truck bed, one foot on that big tire and then swing my leg over. No more needing a freaking step stool to get in and out!

Sometimes... it's the small things...

LOL. A biggie for me today.

I went in the front yard in a bathing suit (trimmed hedges). I did not bend down when cars went by. I just kept working!

Maybe we can add more positivity things today that are FUNNY! But keep adding the positivity. We are so much alike, all of us. Or most of us anyway.

My girlfriend told me that if my pants fall off in public... she will laugh and laugh. There have been a few times it was a legit concern.

I generally wear clothes that fit well, but still have that old habit of buying things with a bit of extra "growing" room that sometimes rears it's head.

Someone called me a "tiny thing" which is a foreign idea. That isn't so much funny except if you know that my nickname (given to me by my oldest brother) was "House" in reference to my size and shape. Lovely, huh?

Hilarious! "House"? That is terrible, but you showed your brother!

1. being able to stop when you're full and still sit with food in front of you while your dinner partners are still eating ... without the food calling your name the whole time

2. finding some extra skin sagging.... on your feet!

3. knowing that you are doing something proactively good about your health.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
