Today is my one year anniversary. I am 67 years old and 6.0 feet tall. I weighed 351 going into surgery and now weigh 203, a weight that I have been maintaining for the last 2 months.

I eat 6 times a day and am still eating only Protein, veggies and fruit. Carbs have not entered my body since my sleeve. I am probably eating up to 2000 calories a day.

I speed walk (I need 2 knees replaced) 4 to 5 miles 4 to 5 times a week and now box twice a week. Average of 500 to 600 calories burnt.

I weigh my self daily in the morning and am still afraid that I will gain weight (maybe that's a good thing).

My sleeve saved my life. All of you hang in there.

Good stuff. I thought I was really kicking but and I still feel I am for me. Some of you guys though are really getting after it.

I think I better get some consistent exercise started to kick it up a notch. I wanted goal weight at a year but now I am getting greedy and would like it by around February or March.

Good job guys. It is good inspiration to see the stories.

No worries Bro! I think u are making some good progress in barely 3M! I'm wanting to get to the gym so I can lift, but I can't yet. I'm focused on how the weight comes off. I want quick results like most of us guys, but I want to be toned up with it.

I have a one year goal like yours. Hell, anything below 300 will be a HUGE milestone for me!!! Lol! #SLOWnEASY

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
