PSRS520 75 Posted August 27, 2014 Just finished w/my PCP and she will NOT write me a letter of recommendation. States I will be miserable after! Unable to eat anything but 2 oz of food. I can shed the weight on my own. States my Dr told me I was a candidate because "he just wants to make $" ugh this is not good, not good
KarenWB 20 Posted August 27, 2014 That is so not true, imho. I've lost almost 50 lbs and I eat well... I don't eat 2-4 oz of food. If I did, I would lose sooner. I do, however, walk a lot and that definitely gets the weight off. I love my lap band. It has changed my life!! I no longer have high blood pressure or glaucoma!! Your PCP is wrong, imho. This surgery helps a great deal. A lot of people have benefited from it. My sister in law has lost over 70 lbs. Find another doctor!!!

2muchfun 8,927 Posted August 27, 2014 New PCP!! Good girl. So many doctors are so misinformed. Makes me so pissed off I want to go to your PCP and calmly persuade her to WISE UP
JustWatchMe 7,117 Posted August 27, 2014 (edited) New doc STAT! Don't give up. You're worth it. Edited August 27, 2014 by JustWatchMe
intelirish 714 Posted August 27, 2014 how utterly arrogant of your PCP i'm so gald you are already taking your life/fate in your own hands by finding some one else. best of luck the lapband has so so many positive impacts it is so worth it as are you

pink dahlia 2,513 Posted August 27, 2014 Amen to the above posts !!! He/she is sadly misinformed ! Reading the success stories here and other places will show you that there are many more success stories than there are failures. I eat more than 2 oz of food at one time, no more sleep apnea, im stronger, healthier and happier than ive been in along time ! Hopefully your new Dr. will be smarter and more knowledgeable than the last one ! Good luck !

briefs199 337 Posted August 28, 2014 Don't be discouraged. As long as you meet the criteria of BMI over 40 or over 35 with issues why should they not write you the letter? I had a totally new doctor refer me so perhaps you can post where you generally live and someone here can refer you to a more Enlightened doctor!
