If you have an iphone, it's called "Countdown" real creative, huh? Haha

How's everybody doing today? I think my emotions are really hitting me. I cried over the thought of a couple shirts I have that are too tight being loose in a few months. Crazy Lol

I'm doing great so far but I am use to drinking my Breakfast already. It's lunch and dinner time that may be difficult.

I have had a Protein shake for Breakfast, some watermelon Water, and 1/4 of an organic raw kombucha drink so far.

Did your surgeons say that you had to watch your carb intake during your liquid fast pre-surgery.

I'm logging my liquids on MFP and EVERYTHING has carbs in it.

We have pretty much had the same thing so far but I opted for chicken broth today.

My husband is kinda fasting with me.. So that makes it easier.

Today has been easier than I expected (so far). I think it's because I have been on the go since early this morning.

I have not thought about food.... Unlike yesterday when that's all I thought about. Lol

I need to get some exercise but I usually end up "thinking about it" but not actually doing it.

Hello all! I'm scheduled for RNY on the 8th. I'm mostly excited, but a whole lot nervous too. My Dr doesn't have me in a liquid diet, just high protein/low carb. Interesting how different the programs are. My dr is at a base hospital tho, maybe that's part of it.

Hi Heather_marie

I'm excited too.... My Wednesday is half way over already. Time has been flying by.

I have instructions for a liquid diet but I was told that I really just have to watch the carbs, sodium and sugar as well.

I am mostly on liquids but I have had chicken once, veggies and fruit.

Monday can't get here soon enough.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
