Spirited.....every doc has their own negotiated price with tricare. Mine hasn't been processed yet. Are you just having the panniculectomy? I do have pics but not to be posted publicly. I also promised my surgeon I wouldn't share until I was more healed. Do you have questions? I'll be happy to help if I can.

Mary-

My surgery is next week, I am excited and nervous at the same time. How is the pain after yours and what did your surgeon give you to manage it?

Day 3 was the worst and the first time I took any pain mess. My doc gave me Percocet (low dose) and I only needed it day 3. I am day 13 post op today and went to work. I did get tired but I feel great. Good luck to you and let me know if you have any questions!

Any pics yet Mary? I went to pre op today and having hiccups on fees. My ins approved panni and the doctor wants paid up front $7500 with another $2000 after ins pays. The original agreement was $7500 cash then ins reimburse for the coveted portion I get reimbursed. Somewhere a miscommunication. Anyone know how much the normal panni procedure costs?

I am reluctant to post pictures as my incision line is very low! I still have some swelling but I am completely satisfied and have NO regrets! My insurance coverage was 2k and my fee was 5k. I am 4 weeks post op and feel completely healed. When are you scheduled?

Wow that's pricey for a panni. My full abdominoplasty is $8100 and insurance isn't paying any of if.

I am 10 days post-op and have 0 regrets. I had a panni, abdominoplasty, circumferential and a little additional Lipo under chin and bra line. Tri-Care covered the panni and abdominoplasty. The original quote for all was a $12,300, my portion was $3,500. My surgeon told us that he removed 15.2 lbs in skin and tissue which he said was one of the most he's ever done. I'm still healing of course but I am so pleased with what I see so far. Everybody is different but for me the pain and discomfort have been the worse I have ever experienced BUT worth it. Admittedly, I am a big baby, I wish I was one of these people who felt great after the first week. My scar line is also very low, right along the pubic area so I have not posted pictures either.

Wow that is a lot! I am almost 5 weeks post op of just the Tummy Tuck. I'm so happy I did it!

It is a lot, but I feel like I am only up for one recovery with my schedule and my kids' schedules so I better get the bang for my proverbial buck, LOL

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
