aloudwhisper 176 Posted August 26, 2014 I will have my surgery in about 24 days. I have mixed feelings. I'm excited and very nervous. I have been hungry for no reason. I think it's because I'm nervous (and I'm extra emotional because this is my time of the month. Not a real excuse I know, but it's all I got). I feel like God is giving me a do over, and I need to do well. I just need a lot of support and encouragement. I would also love to communicate with old banders/new sleevers out there. aloudwhisper 176 Posted September 8, 2014 I need some encouragement. I can't get it together with this preop diet. I want this process, but I think the stress of it all is making me what to eat. I'm nauseous all the time. Today is a better day, cause I had a salad. I have had low car high Protein diets before, but I am struggling this time.
babelfish5 78 Posted November 9, 2014 Just had my band revised to a sleeve on the Nov. 4th. It went fairly smooth with only a few issues. My recovery is going well and my pain and swelling is almost gone. so far, sfter surgery, I only have had Protein shakes with no desire to eat anything else. Your going to be just fine. Pre-op is always a tough time. It's the time you have the biggest doubts and start to rthink. Power through it, its going to be fine. Only you can succeed at the pre-op diet. The only advice I can say is that it's worth the effort and you will be glad you had the revision. Good Luck!
cdenney123 103 Posted November 9, 2014 I have a question I have seen similar post to this about band to sleeve, how come you have to get a revision did the band not work? if not why? I was originally going for the band but my dr said no to do the sleeve so I just agreed with him. Should I be happy I did not get the band?
babelfish5 78 Posted November 9, 2014 My band never really worked for me. I got mine in 2006. I felt that I needed to get it revised because I started having issues with it. Pain, vomiting, slime and nausea were always there. My band surgeon told me nothing was wrong. In hindsight, I should have never had it .I had to many problems with it and not enough weight loss. No regrets on the revision so far. It's good to have the band gone. I'm seeing results and feeling much better now.
aloudwhisper 176 Posted November 10, 2014 I had many of the same issues. No matter what wls you decide, you will still have a lot of work to do. You need to be mindful of your food choices and exercise is also important. I have had a lot going on in this month and a half. It's been a struggle, but I'm doing my best. Chadwick79 0 Posted November 12, 2014 My band slipped and it was removed in late June. Then sat for approval for the sleeve for 4 months. OCT 20 I was sleeved. 3 weeks out and I'm doing great and don't regret a thing. The band gave me lots of complication. Constantly throwing up and frothing and after 5 years of complications the band slipped. I'm not hungry now, eating or trying to eat 80g of Protein daily and drink 64oz of Water plus. It's hard to do when eating is so small but I have lost 35lbs in three weeks and see noticeable differences between the two and the way I look. Don't worry. It will go fine.
