I heard a lot about it over the months just not really sure what it is.

Do a search, you will find lots of threads here. Vets of the 5:2 do not recommend it to people under a year out from surgery. Just follow your Docs plan. I posted a 5:2 thread sticker at the top of the veterans page.. you can find links there. Watch the documentary, it explains a lot. I am going to move this question out of the Vets section as you are not a vet yet, but you are welcome to come here and read, just not post yet.. at one year you are welcome to join on in! Best of luck to you.

@@mrsbshe I'm doing a variation on the 5/2 diet every other week -- I do 4/3 instead of 5/2. Why do I do it? Because it is helping me get off these last 15-20 lbs! Weight loss was really easy for the first year after being sleeved for me, but now I need to come at it with more firepower. Intermittent fasting helps me with that. I wouldn't have done it during the first year though.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
