Walking around on the legs of your pjs because they are too loose.

Can definitely relate - and at 5' 10" that's usually not the case! I may have to donate my favorite pj bottoms soon for that reason...hate to see them go, but yeaaa!! :D

Or as someone else posted recently, "I'm overweight!" (As their BMI dropped below 30.) I loved that, and hope to post it myself before too long. Specifically, in 22 pounds (but whose counting?). :P

You have gone through all the holes on your first NSV belt you bought at 3 months postop and now you have to buy another new belt.

Me too! My wife and I made ribs for company last weekend, (I even did the grilling portion myself), but I only ate one rib with a few roasted veggies on the side. The old full rack is a thing of the past!

The bathing suit shorts that just fit you a few months ago were falling off in the pool yesterday.

I wore a bathing suit and didn't feel huge around other people.

You go to your bariatric support group meeting..... and now you're one of the smallest people in the room! And you're a cheerleader for the "newbies".

You find yourself posting way more pictures of yourself on Facebook than you ever have before.

You can't buy clothes on clearance for the season that just passed because you dont know what size you will be next year.

I know! I want to get a bathing suit for the cruise I'm going on in November, but am having trouble guessing what size to get! I tried on a 10 today (currently in 12/14) and it seemed so tight... but who knows what I'll be fitting in in 2 months?

Okay, a few more:

-Your husband tell you that your work pants look like "clown pants" on you.

-When you get carded buying wine (a small victory in itself) the clerk does a double take between you and your license picture.

-You look forward to exercising, because it's so much easier, and more fun to be active with a body that's 50+ pounds lighter!

-You can go "shopping" in your own closet, because there are so many things in there that haven't fit in so long that it seems like getting new clothes!

Get the smaller one. I bought two bathing suits in April and the smaller one is already loose.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
