Yes! I have been meaning to ask that same question! I actually had the same pains when I was gaining weight and finally got rid of it through physical therapy. But, now it is back. It's back spasms really, though it just feels like an ache. Stretching definitely helps and it works itself out throughout the day. It's in the mornings when I wake up that it is worse. And I think it is just one hip for me, the left side.

When I had this before, the physical therapists said that I was carrying myself differently and my body seemed to think that one leg was longer than the other which is where the pain then came in. Doing the stretches and exercises they gave me fixed the problem then. I have been trying to do the stretches in the mornings and they are helping but I'm not yet doing all the exercises they had me do. I think one part might also be that I'm working out at the gym (was back then, too) but not working my core.

I'm so glad it is not just me! lol. That's why I love this list.

Yes I have been having back pain. I am almost 3 weeks post op. I think because of the abdominal pain I must have been compensating and not standing straight at all times. I am using a heating pad and it seems to help. Standing too long in the kitchen or folding laundry is the worst.

Well I had terrible back issues prior to surgery, so my viewpoint is a little different.

Once I got down about 80 pounds the pain started to let up for the majority of the time.

Unfortunately now when the pain returns it feels so much worse than before. I'm guessing partly because I used to manage it with ibuprofen and partly because it is no longer constant.

The tylonol we're allowed to have now does nothing for the pain, so ice and rest are the only things that give me relief now.

I woke up from the surgery with awful back pain. Turns out it was the way they positioned me on the OR table. I've been doing PT and it has resolved itself somewhat. My right hip is not in good shape, so the PT guy says it may never go completely away.

I am not quite 2 weeks out, and today my hips and legs ache like I have the flu. I just can't get comfortable. I'm not able to eat much (maybe 8 - 10 ounces of food a day), so I'm wondering if a lack of nutrition is the cause? I take all my Vitamins and supplements....but I lack a lot of Protein. I just can't eat enough to get it all in.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
