amsterp 19 Posted August 25, 2014 Had my surgery August 15th by Dr. Kole in Troy MI. I went Friday the 22nd for my follow up and was down 11 lbs. I told him I felt great but need to chew something was given the ok for soft things on day 10 so today I am eating watermelon and having no issues. Last night I had some mashed potatoes and no issues!! Liking this so far! Meet with the dietician at Beaumont this Wednesday to get a game plan on changing my eating habits for good!!! *Lexie* 1,486 Posted August 25, 2014 you are doing great! you just made me think of something though. I've heard this before about wanting to chew something. Would chewing gum help? Are we allowed to chew gum?
amsterp 19 Posted August 25, 2014 I did chew gum and it kinda made me feel full, maybe the air you may swallow?
blondebomb 580 Posted August 25, 2014 Some ppl do..my surgeon said no gum..it causes stomach secretions an gets u hungry so u end up grazing. He told me if u graze it means more calories no weight loss..so I don't chew...every surgeon has their own protocol. .
*Lexie* 1,486 Posted August 26, 2014 Good feedback on the gum. Not a fan of gum myself so I'll probably not chew it.
