10 days out workout

Recommended Posts

I'm 10 days out and I signed up for the gym today I have to start actually working out not just walking I feel I haven't lost the weight I was supposed to . people told me I lost weight from my stomach but not a lot but idk how much I lost because I don't have a scale with enough capacity but I'm going to the 2 week check up on Tuesday and they will tell me I know its probably too early for the gym but I need a get this done I'm tired of being huge .

Walking is good, keep it up, but please speak with your doctor at your follow up before doing anything to difficult. Better safe than sorry!

Hi - tomorrow I'll be 12 days post op and I have my first session with a personal trainer - so I am right there with you olsonjb! I am losing slowly, but I promised myself that I would commit to this transformation 100% and that does include exercise. They gym is actually a medically-supervised facility. A lot of people go there for cardiac rehab, after joint replacements, etc. They have some experience with bariatric clients. I went to Koles earlier to buy a sports bra - 56 years old and my first one. I feel so athletic :D. Good luck I guess to both of us - I am more nervous about the trainer than I was about the surgery!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
