One of our twitter followers had the following question:

" @@BariatricPal How does one beat meltdowns that come after #gastricsleeve surgery?

Had a rough night, food was everywhere, tears were shed. "

If you're on Twitter, PLEASE take a moment and respond to her tweet!

Yes, I'm on Twitter.

It wasn't really a meltdown, just a short drama llama.

Twitter is the best invention ever made to encourage over-sharing. Unless you have an anonymous Twitter account, all your posts can be seen by everyone on the internet. It's not like Facebook where you post only to your friends or subsets of friends.

If she needs support, she should come over here, tell her story, and get meaningful responses that are longer than 144 characters.

I couldn't agree with you more! IMHO BariatricPal is the best social network for anything related to Weight Loss Surgery :D. We try to support people interested in WLS, regardless where they post. Maybe suggest she jump on over here for support. I can't personally do that since we don't solicit for members on social networks.

Sorry, Alex, but I use Twitter for business. WLS is not a subject I address on Twitter.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
