tifkins 2 Posted August 24, 2014 Am 2 days post op and I have a tickle in the back of my throat that I can not kill!!! It's very irritating and is causing me to cough a lot. I'm afraid I'm gonna tear something. Did anyone else experience this? If so what did you do to stop it?

NurseHeather 1 Posted August 25, 2014 I was not going to reply to this b/c i didnt want to scare you.....and still I dont- that is NOT my intent. But, I would encourage you to call your doc b/c a tickle in the throat can also be a sign of pulmonary embolism. that is probably but not it, but I would rather see you be safe than sorry! Hope you feel better soon! Heather
I'mDoingIt! 88 Posted August 25, 2014 I had this for 4-5 days after surgery and then it went away. No reflux. no other issues. I assumed it was from the anesthesia. Hopefully it goes away in a few days for you!!
Blazzrr 37 Posted August 25, 2014 I had a sore and scratchy throat for a few days after surgery and attributed it to the breathing tube they put down our throats during surgery. I found halls cough drops very helpful.
