Scared of saggy skin

Recommended Posts

Yes, its a realistic worry Kimmerjz29! After going through this process I want to feel comfortable. Although I am fat I am not saggy and as far as feeling good about myself, that will be very hard for me. It's important to have a realistic take and be able to have insight that will help you handle the skin such as plastic surgery or preventives that may of worked for others.

I don't know if it's possible to "tone" stretched out skin. You can build muscle to fill some of it out.

If you lose the weight that you want to lose, are you afraid you won't have the money for plastics down the road? Honestly, that is the only thing that is going to fix it. It's expensive and painful.

There are so many more benefits to losing the extra weight. Besides being so much healthier, I am so much happier in all areas of my life. I am going to be 62 in October and people tell me all the time that I look like I am in my 40's. whatever. I love being able to buy new clothes and look good in them and I really don't care what I look like naked. My man doesn't care either.

After 33 years of marriage, it's safe to assume my hubby loves me for being me, too! :-)

I know he will always love me for me it's how I'm going

To feel about myself,I know that losing the weight is way way better for me and this really shouldn't be a huge worry but it is for me because I fear that I will just still not feel comfortable with myself even after making this huge change!!! But I know I'll be happier just have to see how everything goes

Hi everyone...I am in the very beginning stages of finding out more info about gastric sleeve surgery!! I meet with all the docs on sept 8th for my very first visit!! I have a huge concern about saggy skin, I'm 5'3 and 240lbs, does anyone find that going to the gym and toning usually helps with this problem? I know you most likely are going to have it in places no matter what since u lose so much weight so quickly, but anyone know any ideas of how to avoid having it as much as u can?? Thanks

This girl made me feel better about saggy skin

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
