Banded on Monday 4/30

Recommended Posts

I was banded on Monday 4/30/07 so I am 2 days post op. I am really sore and have some gas pains. I had hoped to go back to work today, but NO WAY! I think I will take off until Monday--hopefully I will be feeling better by then. I have been doing the 30 minutes walking and getting the 64 oz Water in but I haven't really wanted anything. I have to remind myself to eat some sf Jello or a popsicle every so often. I think I consumed a total of 55 calories today. I know that won't last though! I'm just glad the surgery is over and I wish I was felling more normal.

Hi Susie, congratulations! And welcome to LBT. I promise, barring any major complications, you will be feeling normal (what's normal) in short order. Just remember, right now you are healing. Don't worry about losing or getting back to work. Those things will come. You are probably swollen a bit and that would account for the lack of hunger. My wife is a real weinie when it comes to pain and she managed to get back to the salt mine after a long weekend. If you have any questions, just ask away. I know that there is someone here who will give you an answer or direct you to someone who can. Lose well!

Congrats....I was banded on March 28th....I lost 20 pounds by April 27th...Since then I have not gotten a weight. I have slowed a little...You can work hard if you want to. I have found out--it's more of a mind thing. I live in an area where there is about 3 hills to go up. I kept saying--"Oh my God--I will never make it"...I stopped about 6 times the first time...Then 5 times...Finally I am into my 5th week of riding. I can stop now twice each time going up. The big thing for me is when people laugh. I like that--it pushes me harder. I ride 3 to 5 miles a day. The reason I know--I put a speedometer on the bike--so I could not make distances up in my head and be honest with "myself"..

Funny thing--A dog bit me 2 weeks ago on the same street while riding. Then I fell off the bike--hands first--due to me hitting the wrong brake..lol

Guess what--I am doing this ride at least 4 days a week. I do other routes on the other 2 days. This week--I have taken 3 days off from riding. But last night--May-8th-07--I played tennis with my 2 sons...Last thing--I will turn 50 next month (6-21)--hey--I am doing great with my lap bading..

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
