I didn't have that but I have heard it can be common. Make sure to drink a lot of Water. My doctor had suggested buying breath strips (the kind that dissolve in your mouth). I bought them but didn't need them. This will change once you can eat more foods.

Be cautious of thrush forming in your mouth. It is quite common in the first few weeks...maybe from imbalance of how your body is handling all the changes. It usually coats your tongue to where it looks white, and tastes yucky too. Nystatin solution is usually prescribed.

I've heard many people say that their doctors recommended biotene for after surgery. A dry yucky mouth is fairly common for us since we're only able to take in so much liquid at a time. Biotene is a mouthwash made specifically to remedy dry mouth and it helps a ton. Hope it gets better for you soon!

I had bad dry mouth too. Idk if I had bad breath. No one told me I did lol. I didn't get thrush from surgery but I did get my first ever yeast infection. That was not fun!

Try Biotin toothpaste it keeps your mouth moisten and you teeth clean.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
