Hello!

I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

I had a port revision a little over a month ago. I went in to get a fill and my doctor poked and prodded and couldn't find it. ????

It hurt really bad! I've had problems with him finding it from day one! Well when he did the port revision he removed a little fat to get to it easier. Well like I said above he couldn't find it. So I have to go back the 2nd to do it under x-Ray. I hope nothing happened in there! Has anyone else had this problem?

Not sure if I've had this problem but... I have to have the fluroscopy test this Tuesday to see what might be wrong with my port. The first time I got a fill it went great. I didn't even feel it. Then the second time she had to go in twice and yes it hurt!!

Since my surgery, tho, the port area has been extremely painful. My surgery was February 17th of this year. I can't cough, sneeze, blow my nose, etc. without lots of pain!! It feels like the port is ripping out of my muscle.

So they need to find out why. I know this doesn't answer your question but thought I would share.

Oh wow! Sorry to hear that. The only time mine ever hurt was when I had to go to emergency room to have Fluid removed after food got stuck. ER Dr couldn't find port so they called my surgeon. He got it first stick. On my fill, I didn't even know when he stuck me.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
