@@chellede @@SimplySue @@Vsglady - Thanks so much! I appreciate any and all advice from the "veterans"!

How soon until you all went back to work? I am basically at a desk all day, stressful job but nothing strenuous. I was hoping to be back at work, maybe even if just half days, after a week or so. Is that unrealistic? I know everyone is different but my thinking was whats the difference if i am sitting at my desk versus sitting on my butt at home? Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks again!

@@mjmboston I had mine done on a Monday and went back to work the following Monday. I have a 1.5hr bus/train commute and that alone almost did me in. It was a combination of switching from real pain meds to Tylenol, nauseous reaction to my Protein Shake and just overall tiredness. Thankfully I work from home on Tuesdays or I wouldn't have made it. Wednesday was better and I still don't feel 100% all day every day but I'm getting close

MJ - half days at a week out would be good. Don't go into it too fast. You will have low energy because you're on liquids.

Hey everybody!!!

Chell- you go girl!!! I may do the Cresent City Classic here in New Orleans when it's time. I currently been walking 2 to 4 miles a day.

Anyone has a fitbit? Please feel free to add me lovelytrl.

I'm excited about the outcome of surgery but I'm deadly afraid of next week! We are going on a 7 day cruise. My family and I go every year. With all the food options I'm offered a variety but the experience of food will be sooo different. When you only can get a few bites in before you are full makes it weird during the dinning experience but I'll be surrounded by family so I should be okay.

After surgery I took off a month so I'm scheduled to return on November 17th. I've been getting messages from my co-workers telling me how much I'm missed but I needed this month off to reintroduce myself to my new way of living plus that's what FMLA is for.

Congrats to all the Sleevers that are finding their way and all the soon to be Sleevers who will join us in this great journey!

Tamicia

@@chellede , I'd have to travel to the other side of the state (I'm in Upstate/ western NY), but keep me posted, that would be so cool!

&@@mjmboston - the difference is at home, you can take a nap! I agree with 1/2 days 1st & start mid week if you can- you will get tired.

@@lovelytrl, look at it this way. You can have a small taste of very soft soft foods, or have broth of all the different Soups. But take it from me... if you over eat, you will be miserable !!! And you are on a cruise ! Don't be miserable !!!!!!!! Enjoy the dancing, the Water, and everything non food ! And even some gambling LOL ( be careful though, we tend to exchange one addition for another). Just have a great time !!! You'll enjoy the food, just small amounts or liquids :)

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
