downsizingdebs 61 Posted November 27, 2014 Got my first monthly shipment from Insurenutririon.com today 72 Protein shakes, bariatric Vitamins and a tub of special scar compound. Insurance covered at 100% and this shipment will come every month. Has anyone else registered or got approved with them, if not I'd highly recommend it. Here is the info on the scar compound if anyone is curious. Scar Therapy Cream Ingredients Tranilast is an anti-allergic drug. Studies have shown tranilast to inhibit the release of histamine and prostaglandins from mast cells. It also suppresses collagen synthesis of fibroblasts derived from keloid and hypertrophic scar tissue but not healthy tissue. Tranilast also inhibits the release of transforming growth factor (TGF)-beta 1 from keloid fibroblasts. Topical treatment has been found to be more beneficial than when given orally. Relief of burning sensation, pain and pruritis associated with keloid scars. Mometasone, a medium potency glucocorticosteroid, is used to reduce inflammation. Topical therapy is preferred over systemic therapy due to fewer associated adverse effects. Mometasone produces anti-inflammatory, antipruritic and vasoconstrictive actions. Levocetirizine is a histamine (H1) receptor antagonist. Topical antihistamines can be used to reduce swelling and eliminate itching. Itching can lead to unintentional scratching which only further damages the tissue. Antihistamines have other anti-scar properties as well: they inhibit the inflammatory response which reduces scar formation. They are also antiproliferative agents and have been shown to inhibit the deposition and synthesis of collagen in keloid fibroblasts through suppression o f the release of TGF-b1 from fibroblasts. Levocetirizine is a long acting antihistamine which provide for less frequent dosing and longer relief for patients.

shmeyers 240 Posted November 28, 2014 Hi, I had my 6 week check up last Tuesday. They snipped a thread that had come to the surface. Yesterday, it started hurting, there is a bump there and it is a little red. The doctor's office is closed till Monday. I'm trying to decide if I need to call the doctor on call or just let it go till Monday. It doesn't feel hot and I'm not running a fever. Has anyone else had this experience? ***** 155 Posted November 28, 2014 @@shmeyers, I had one of those on my larger incision and it eventually pushed out the remaining thread and healed up well. It felt a little sore and tender to the touch or when my shirt rubbed it. Unless it's getting heat, oozing, the redness starts spreading or you start running fever I think you're ok. Peekboo 472 Posted November 28, 2014 Susan, I had a stitch come to the surface at my 2 wk appt. But they clipped it and it heald fine. There was a little irritation for a couple days. Try not to let your clothes rub it too much.

Jen - a work in progress 178 Posted November 29, 2014 I had a couple of my sutures come to the surface. I cut mine on my own and those incisions have FINALLY healed up like the rest. I just used Tegaderm to create a steri strip to pull the incisions closed tight and allowed them to seal up again. They itch like crazy sometimes, but that's just part of the healing process.
