Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted September 20, 2014 Hi Kathy Sorry I didn't get back to you ... My surgery was last week and I'm recovering and have been in the post op posts..... It took time to get used to the machine. FOr me it's the headband around my head more then the mask itself. It gives me a headache and if it's not on tight enough the air seeps through and then makes noice.....I'm a mouth breather so I have a full mask... But I did notice that I felt better using it, also it can be soothing.. The air and sound...sometimes I get up around 4 am and take it off. I had to bring it to the hospital and it was on me when I woke up...made my mouth very dry, I had an issue cause it turned out I wanted to keep it on even while awake in hospital cause I felt like it helped with my breathing and my doctor said that was fine. Give it time you will get used to it, and good luck to you. When I first got my bi-pap I had a mask with a headband. I kept it so tight due to air seapage I wound up with a sore on my forehead. I switched to nose pillows with a chin strap and it works great. You might wanr to see what your sleep doctor thinks.

FireWife678 51 Posted September 20, 2014 My liquid diet (two weeks long!! starting the 7th) is seriously liquid. broth, sugar free Jello, Tomato Soup, shakes. But thank goodness I can have one Protein Bar pet day, yogurt and oatmeal. But no solids. Wahh!! Lol. They said flavored oatmeal is okay so I'll go with varieties. But still, blah lol

orrio82 24 Posted September 21, 2014 I am excited and nervous I have a surgery date of October 6 I am having the lap band taken out that was placed 4 years ago. I have lost 40 lbs with lap and kept it off. For that I am grateful. The band is not set right and needs to come out, but fear that I will gain is scarey. I definately can lose more weight as my BMI is 40. Start my 2 week diet tomorrow, I think I can do it. Have cut out all soda, sweets and most carbs. I am ready. I am scared, but determined. love this page
