Recommond a post-op multivitamin and calcium supplement

Recommended Posts

I think these "Bariatric Best" Vitamins that my surgeon's office gave me are actually for horses. They're way too big to swallow comfortably after surgery. Any recommendations on something that has the equivalent nutritional value but in a more tolerable size?

Aren't the chewable? There are plenty of chewable bariatric Vitamins on the market. I thought we couldn't eat anything bigger than an M & M the first few months.

I have switched to eco drink which is a mix you add to Water. I found it at costco and its 30bucks for 30 days. I hate pills.

The best Calcium is citrate which I have the mini tabs. I can't always make myself choke those down so I also have the Calcium chocolate chews from costco.< /p>

@@Beth Pets - it doesn't SAY chewable on the bottle, so I ASSUME that they are not. For now let's just say they're not chewable so that I don't feel like an idiot for asking this question and I'll try chewing one next time. lol.

I'm using the Alive! brand of Gummy vitamins.. one bottle for women's Multivitamin and a second for Calcium. They taste good and go down easily and iirc they are not particularly expensive, either.

But gummys are not advised as they are sticky and can get stuck. I was told chewable did NOT include gummys

interesting. my surgeon and support team aok'd the gummies for me. I guess we can chalk it up to one of those things that doctors have differing opinions about.

I decided to try VitaFusion's chewable Calcium Vitamins (2 per day) with one regular Flintstones multivitamin. So far, so good. The VitaFusions are 15 calories each and have sugar in them, but considering I've lost nearly 20 pounds in 2 weeks, that's sacrifice I'm willing to make to avoid the horse pills. lol

Also, I don't recall hearing anything about gummy vitamins being off-limits for sleevers. They don't seem to be causing me any problem at the moment. I could see how they would be a problem for lap-banders, tho.
