Honey how exciting that youa re just a few weeks away from surgery!!

Heather, you said you excercise a lot but dont eat many calories and are stalled. I NEVER lose weight if I excercise and don't eat much. Its one reason I haven't done anything but walk a little. I KNOW my weight loss will stop for weeks unless I get in more calories. I'm going to start walking and lifting but I know I need to seriously start to work out and to do that I need to be strict on gettin in those 60+ grams of Protein. I'm goint to try to do a shake right after working out and sometime at work. Its a project.

I'm feeling great everyone! Hope you are all doing well. Its a camping weekend. So I'll be cooking more than normal but its so nice that I can have a few bites of whatever I make and call it a day!

Of course I do the "Protein first" thing, but I have never counted or tracked or measured my food. I have no idea what my carb or calorie or fat intake is. Not real sure about Protein, either but I do drink a 30-40g protein smoothie everyday on top of my regular food, so I'm sure my level is good. I eat healthy, balanced meals of protein, veggies, fruit and whole grains.

BUT I also eat like a "normal" person. Here's some of those bad carbs we aren't supposed to eat that I've had in the last 2 weeks alone.... Pita chips...with a nice fatty artichoke dip, chocolate covered English toffee (OMG YUMMMM), vodka cocktail, a brownie, a slice of pumpkin/cheesecake roll, hot chocolate (and not the crappy sugar-free/fat-free kind), bread (used to make a roast beef/ avocado sandwich) and pancakes with real maple Syrup. Oh yeah, and although I am active, I don't exercise at all. Since I'm below goal and still losing, I'd say the "non-plan" I've chosen is working.

Good luck to all of you!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
